Here, Downtown LA has great examples for Industrial Design. During World War II, Downtown LA was the prime center for manufacturing. Post World War II, due to suburbanization, many corporate headquarters dispersed to new suburbs leading to a decline in occupancy of the buildings. But in 2013, Los Angeles City Council revitalized downtown by passing adaptive reuse ordinance making it easier to convert outdated office and warehouse buildings to renovated lofts. This has led to increased use of Industrial Design in residential apartments and lofts in Downtown LA.
